What You Need To Know About Fibromyalgia And CBD Oil
What Is Fibromyalgia (FM)?
It is a condition or rheumatic syndrome originating in the central nervous system, characterized by muscular or musculoskeletal pain with stiffness and sensitivity located at specific points in the body. This syndrome is very difficult to diagnose, treat and even considered “impossible” to cure since the cause of its origin remains unknown.
CBD is one of the 85 cannabinoid compounds found in Hemp plants. For this compound to have the capacity to provide its therapeutic properties, it must be isolated and extracted from plants known as industrial hemp, which have a high concentration of CBD, a molecule without psychotropic capacity. In other words, CBD does not produce a stupefying effect (the opposite happens with THC molecules, predominant in other plants of this genus).
How Is CBD Related To Fibromyalgia?
Some examples of the properties of CBD:
- Intraocular pressure in glaucoma;
- Nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing chemotherapy;
- Muscle pain and insomnia derived from injuries in spine;
- Rigidity in patients with multiple sclerosis;
- Weight loss and loss of appetite in patients with HIV.
The effects of CBD is due to its action on the endocannabinoid system, once activated, they are responsible for producing a cascade of antitumor, anti-inflammatory, antiemetic effects. Our bodies have the natural function of forming cannabinoids, unfortunately, they do not do it in high enough concentrations to produce the desired effect, that is why CBD coming from external sources is a potential ally for people with this type of syndromes.
The simple answer to this question is, current conventional treatments have a very low rate of effectiveness and in a large number of cases their side effects are more dangerous than the disease they seek to alleviate.
